Me too. My wife uses Apple. I try it once in a while and am not impressed. But hay!.. anything new and different takes time. I like Linux a lot. Like you say android was not built for pc's. But I like what it can do.. Google had a great idea with Fuchsia os to replace android that runs on everything from garage doors, tablets, phones to pc's. But haven't heard much about it lately. Here comes DahliaOS. A linux distro with Fuchsia features. So should have android included with Fuchsia. dahliaos.io/I only downloaded it a few days ago and am trying some basic stuff. I'll see how it turns out. So far I like it.

The original Macintosh was amazing when it first appeared, but it's not really better than the competition if you ask me, and that's been true ever since Windows 95. On the other hand their percentage of the market is still quite strong. I'm not referring to the iPhone and iPad, just to their Macintosh line.

Well my reason for thinking of moving to an iMac is precisely because of iPhone iPad. My wife is happy to use these devices but baulks at the PC.
So I am thinking that the iMac will look like a large IPad to her.
I of course have other interests which I hope it will be deliver on.

The nice thing about Macs is that with Parallels you can do everything, and by that I mean you can run Mac software, and Windows, and Linux. It works really well, but your Mac should have lots of RAM.
