We got sidetracked on this thread but rather than start a new I thought I'd post some code I've played with to give me an editable array of API created textboxes....maybe useful for someone to expand on.
Yes Laurie, I know I got a little off track. I really needed something to set up a form. I looked around and found a program called "free form'. I think everyone already knows this. Anyway it seemed like a lot of work to set up a form. So I wrote one that is quick to set up. I only need stuff like statictext, checkboxes, buttons and all the other facets. It does not do colors and fonts for each facet, but on a window basis. So if you need that level you need something like free form.
If you are interested, I can make the code available.
and yes, I've already hit the turps (cab sav) it is Saturday after all
Hmmmmm! Saturday?? I cut my drinking down to week nights and weekends.
I like the Aussie beer. Funny - I designed and wrote the systems for Gallo and their distributors. Did it years ago but they are still using most of it today. I got all the wine I wanted free. Got burned out on it - i suppose.
I wish there was a way to upload stuff to this form. Anyway I put the download here http://form layout
This is my first cut on the code - so let me know if it has problems. Good luck with it. There are some samples I was playing with in the database. The "person" layout is interesting.
I do not have the ability to include the grid in the system. I'm working no it.
