Please help. Windows 10 ran an update on my computers a few days ago and now Liberty Basic application will not run. The icon shows in the toolbar. When I close it shows the Confirm window I have always received from LBv4.50. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Bob

Liberty BASIC's window is minimized off screen most likely.
Do the following: 1. Start Liberty BASIC 2. Hover over the icon in the taskbar 3. Hold Shift + Right-Click 4. Select Move; do not move the mouse at this point 4.a. Without moving the mouse, Left-Click and Hold 4.b. Move the mouse around until the window comes back onto the desktop 4.c. Release the left mouse button Or 5. Select Maximize
You will likely see the minimum size window that can be shown; just grab a corner and resize or maximize Liberty BASIC's window and you should be OK from there.

You might also instal the latest version of Liberty BASIC V4.5.1 which fixes this old bug.

I think this still happens to me on occasion; I will have to keep better track. The premise behind how to get the window back applies to all windows so it's still useful.... {:0) Brandon R. Parker

I definitely want to encourage everyone running an older version of Liberty BASIC to upgrade to the latest version. Just go the the download page and grab it. It will work with your existing LB registration code as long as you have a license for any v4.x version. www.libertybasic.com/download.htmlIf you are still running v4.0 you are missing out. -Carl

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the information. I ran the quick fix from Brandon and have everything back now. I have a license for LB v4.5.0 but have misplaced my registration code. Will I need that to update, or will the update recognize the existing registered code? Also, I have data in a folder labeled Liberty BASIC v4.50 that has data files that I use with my main program. I don't remember if I created this folder or if it was generated. Do I need to save and reload that data, or did I create that file and just forgot about it(its a 7 year old program when I wrote that part).
Thanks for all the help,
Bob

The update will recognise your registration. The update will not overwrite your old files. V4.5 will stay in its original folder and V4.5.1 will write itself to a new folder. So you will have both versions, once you are happy with V4.5.1 you can delete the older folder but you will need to copy any of your own files in that old folder.
Best have a project folder completely separate from the main folder.

Thanks again for the information. The update took a few minutes. I noticed my main program file that I use appears to be hidden when trying to find and open. I just copied it to another folder and loaded to new version no problem. Was that a glitch in old version?
