The whole time I'm using liberty basic I'm remembering my past experiences with visual basic and sometimes thinking "this is easier with visual basic" or remembering how I solved a problem a long time ago in visual basic. I'm constantly comparing vb and lb. The majority of my experience with visual basic was version 4, a little bit of 6 and for a while on 1999 because I was forced to use a windows 3.1 machine, vb 3. So I thought hey.. I already know a little bit about visual basic. I'll just download visual studio 19 and give the latest incarnation of visual basic a shot. Omg... They have made it so complicated. It's just a mess. It took me 20 minutes to produce the equivalent of "hello world" with a form and a button. The whole visual studio experience for me is clutter and confusion. If I need a windows application that can do simple things (the only kind of apps I can write) I think I'll stick with LB.
