help on INPUT - variable prompt example doesn't work

Help topic on Input ends with

The prompt may be expressed as a string variable, as well as a literal string:

 prompt$ = "Please enter the upper limit:"
 input prompt$; limit

This code doesn't work
(Compile halied - Syntax error.)
It doesn't work in LB 4.5.1, LB 4.04 (also JB 1.01, JB 2.0)

Could be made working with adding "":
input "";prompt$; limit

I thought I brought this up back on the Conforums site, possibly during a Rosetta Code thing. It appeared to just be a parsing error from what I can remember. LB seems to always be expecting a hardcoded string literal to start the prompt section correctly.

I remember it was discussed before.  I don't think it's going to be fixed for v4.x.  Sorry.
