Thanks Philip Hughes or Texas Pete Download the zip file and expand it into c:\ (if you're testing on Windows). Then start lb5alpha.exe. Click File+Open and locate your code in the file dialog. Or, you can copy your stuff into the bas files folder and operate from there. I think I should post a video showing how to download, install and start LB5.

Carl , a little video might me of help. I have checked a lot of my codes in the different alpha builds and never had this problem. I recently turned 66, maybe the age is starting to catch up to me. Texas Pete

Phillip, be aware that we are alpha testing. That is the first iteration of the product and a lot of commands will not work. It is actually easy to instal and use. It is completely different from LB4.x so don’t click on any LB4x icons or .bas if they are associated with LB.4x
You simply navigate to the Alpha directory and run the .exe to get the new editor. You can load in older .bas programs but you will find that there are a number of missing commands and that some GUI objects look different.
So don’t get too fixated with things not working, try stuff and tell us what works and what does not. We are after all Alpha Testing. Try the example programs, Carl has included those to show us the new features and commands that do work.
Trying to run a large established program or a program full of API calls is not the way to go right now.
