Would be cool if there was an option to highlight sections of code and set a background color, or some other way to set sections of code apart. I try to do it with comments but it doesn't always look so good.

Obvious question - where it going to be stored? Program just a text file I don't know.. but it's only a suggestion. I might try using Word or something else that can color code and then copy/paste it over. the color coding won't remain but it may help me some. I do have Liberty Basic Pro.. the auto formatting helps a lot.

I never get excited by colour. Text has been monotone for millennium and has served us well. While colour seems to be everywhere try printing and reading colour. It does not work well. White space is your best friend.

White space is your best friend. Something besides color would work. Maybe it's just me and my own code, but sometimes code is hard to read without something to separate the code. My code gets kind of long at times.. I'm sure it could be reduced down a lot. Comments help to divide code.. sometimes i'll start a comment line and do something this: '=============== '=============== Just something to divide it up.

Just a thought (or a few). If I were to write my own texteditor for LB (I'd rather not), or may be work upon something like Notepad++ (style file or whatever): 1) program modules could be made of different backgrounds (main program, sub, function)(very likely Notepad++ could do that?). 2) or alternating backgrounds (one sub code is white, next is grey, next again white)(not sure if possible in Notepad ++) 3) color code could be put in comments, so program still be plain file but enhanced editor could pick that up.

And there are other things that could be done. For example code folding? Automatic horizontal separators between subs? Etc.

Notepad++, then set to Language = VB, supports folding subs/function/Ifs/Loops in BAS files. Very handy indeed. (but the thing I use most is ability to edit same file in two panes side by side (in different places))

I am definitely a huge fan of code folding and horizontal lines between Subroutines/ Functions.
I typically use something like this for Subs/ Functions.
'_________________________________________________________________________ '_________________________________________________________________________
Sub mySub 'Do something here End Sub
'_________________________________________________________________________ '_________________________________________________________________________
Function myFunction 'Do something here End Function
'_________________________________________________________________________ '_________________________________________________________________________
This tends to work out great for my sanity ...

And if the file doesn't exist, LB would just ignore it.

I find it much easier to use the Sublime text editor. I have created the module files for running, debugging, syntax coloring and code folding. You might also want to check out Alyce Watson's LB Workshop or Asger Grønnow's LB Builder. :@)

[UPDATE]: Ah, the Add Attachment button is only on the main editor page, not the Quick Reply.

Anytime! Feel free to reach out if you have trouble getting them to work. Sublime can be a bit of a bear sometimes.
