Hi
I used to really like using Liberty BASIC when I had a Windows PC, but haven't used that OS for a long time now. Currently I've got a MacBook Pro and a desktop PC running Ubuntu Mate. I know there have been occasional rumours of a Linux version. Are there plans to move onto other operating systems? I saw the message about work being done on a Raspberry Pi version. LB was always the easiest way to create any program using a GUI (with FreeForm) and I'd like to be able to go back to that on my current hardware.

The next major release, LB5, is being developed in a new toolkit that is cross-platform, for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. The announcement Carl gave about the RPi was because the toolkit vendor announced that they were adding the Raspberry Pi as a target platform, which meant LB5 could now target it, as well.
WINE can make most LB programs, including the LB IDE, fairly usable on such systems now.

I run JB & LB under Wine on Linux machines with no major problems. Hardly ever use Microsoft these days unless on a borrowed machine. Also have run LB on one of my Pi's. But look forward to a compiled native version..

Work is ongoing for a cross platform version 5.0 that runs on Windows, MacOS, Linux and Raspberry Pi (also Linux, but ARM processor). We are currently focusing on updating Run BASIC www.runbasic.com but then we will come back to LB5 work.
