I wrote a system in RB years ago to maintain media for file records. For example I wont to keep information about a item in a itemMaster file such as PDF's, HTML, Video, and images. I could have any number of these. I tried the old way of keeping blobs, or maintaining pointers files to the media. Was a big mistake and too much work. This systems does it the other way around and points the files to the record. That way you don't have to maintain pointers. The system shows the mini media on the left (6 across and 5 down or 30 media per page). The cell sizes are altered automatically to fit all the media sizes. Click any mini item and it shows bigger to the right. You can watch video in the mini side or the big side. My question; Is It easy in LB to fit the mini media dynamically, and translate PDF's, docs, and HTML, and show videos, and images. Thanks for the help. Dan Attachments:

So you want to take ANY file description, grab that file and create a mini, defined size, preview of that file, either static text, image or dynamic video clip? So we need to throw it at a browser and capture what it displays.
Sounds uber complex.

Hmmm! I guess I don't think it's too complex.
Yes I'm using html, and it does all the translations and adjustment of sizes. I'm not very far up the latter when it comes to LB. And since HTML is not a option, I was wondering how to approach this?
Typically I append the program to existing SQLite file maintenance programs so that the record and all media can be maintained with one program. So I guess it would be nice to allow the LB solution to be appended to file maintenance apps also..
I can post the code if anyone is interested. Dan

I think the stumbling block is that Liberty can display a browser but has no way to follow the users interactions with that browser. I would love to be proved wrong.

Me Too. I wrote this years ago and didn't think much about it.
Then I looked at converting it to LB. Anything is possible, but it looks like a lot of work. I don't know much about LB, but it looks like each file type would have to be coded with a DLL. Then a lot of code would have to be written to adjust all the sizes so that they fit and looked reasonable in a 6 by 5 grid of some type.
I have lots of programs that use HTML and this style. It may be that it's not possible or reasonable to convert these. That's why I posted - to see if someone knew a simple way to do this. I have other HTML/JS applications with dynamic map display while driving and flying I haven't even addressed yet. And some remote controls with bluetooth and TCP I need to check.
Again - I'll post the code if it will help. It's about 400 lines.
Thanks for the help..
