Hello, I just saw that we cannot destroy a folder if it contains files. with RMDIR And I can't know what's in it Windows tells me it's empty, and I can't destroy it. but if I delete it by Windows and I create a new one (with Windows) of the same name, then it is destroyed with: RMDIR Are there any ghost files? How to do ? Thank you.

You have to understand that Windows overlaid a host of issues when UAC was made mandatory. Now you are logged in a s USER or ADMIN Which are you logged in as? Who owns the folder you are trying to remove? Show us some paths.

I think it will also make a difference is LB is run as administrator or not. If the folder has files in it, I don't think you're able to delete it either using RMDIR. You can use the FILES statement to see whats in a folder, pretty sure this shows hidden files as well.

I am in: "Administrator", and the file is supposed to belong to me (I created it).
With a clear mind in the morning, it works (empty folder ->: RMDIR removes); I must have made a bad manipulation. I will try to reproduce the conditions that took me here yesterday (I was cutting / moving files; Windows was telling me; empty folder and RMDIR refused to delete). It makes no sense.

One thing to check if you get the problem again. CtrlAltDel and see if any hung liberty.exe programs are still running in the background. Look down the list for liberty.exe not the obvious one at the top.

Yes, sorry, I should have stated TASKMANAGER. If you code like me and don't reboot your PC too often you will find several instances of "hung" programs. They "might" be holding open a file in a folder that has not been written to or closed off.

You can also "kill" running LB programs by right clicking on the LB icon on the task bar and selecting Kill Basic Programs.
Be aware this will try to end any program without saving the same way as ending its process via the Task Manager but leave LB running.
Win7 and Win10 differ slightly but it should be easy enough to figure out.
