Many thanks for all your help so far, I can insert data, process it, and create statements (validate$) for things that are wrong, and I'm looking to put them into a text editor window so the user can read them, and add a button to copy all to the clipboard so they can be pasted into any random document.
#Validation is the window, #Validation.defect is the handle and extention for the text editor, and validate$ is the text I want to appear in the text editor.
print #handle, "!insert varname$"; This inserts the contents of the variable at the current caret (text cursor) position, leaving the selection highlighted.
print #Validation.defect, "!insert validate$"; doesn't work and the debugger returns invalid file handle?
Help please?

If the error is invalid handle you have either misspelt the handle or it has not yet been opened.

Thank you - tried to print it before it was opened.
