This is first iteration of my pinball game. I gave up on polygons and lines and decided instead to concentrate on circle collisions. Turns out not too bad, if a little boring. Press the down cursor key to fire the ball. Now press left,right up to move the paddles at the foot of the board. Timing is crucial, they fire then subside and wont fire till they have subsided completely. It kinda works well but you need to get a feel for it and you need to keep the ball away from the central gap. Pinball Game

I am afraid not. A rotating polygon collision was just too much for my trig skills. Circle to circle easy, and the paddles do actually have some of the physics of the real thing and are just as frustrating to use.

Circle to circle easy, and the paddles do actually have some of the physics of the real thing and are just as frustrating to use. Just calculate an instantaneous "what angle would the flipper hit the ball and apply the forces to the ball. Draw only the flippers fully deployed. I know, there's more to it and easier said than done, but a simple hack might be good enough.
