It is comport1 for sure! The device is a AD-converter with handshaking (OUT, INP). The the ntport.dll is in the System and System32 Windows folder, but I will place them in the program folder, like you said.

You used the short form of open comm command. Look at the help file and try it with the handshaking controls set. I am not sure whether it is necessary for bit banging but the port might just work anyway.
When I asked about the device I was asking what device you have attached to the pc as the serial device, not your ADC. So what does the ADC actually plug into on the Win10 machine because none of those machines have an actual hard wired serial port.

The ADC is directly connected to the serial port, the handshaking happens in the ADC with INP and OUT instructions... link

The ADC is directly connected to the serial port, the handshaking happens in the ADC with INP and OUT instructions. In w7 handshaking was possible, but not in W10. I think I will give up an degrade to W7. Feel sad. Thanks to everyone Who tried to help.

Are you using LB 4.5 on 64 bit machines? Did you really mean LM186, and why the mention of I2C?? But as Rod says, there are much easier ways to read analog values, unless you need a high speed conversion- eg see my page at www.diga.me.uk/serialADCreadLinux.htmlI use the MAX186 Low Power 8-Channel Serial 12-Bit ADC on 64 bit W10. I have 5 devices with closet, connections, alimentation... so it is difficult to built new ones... I am 72 ... Because I really have no solution (bit banging under W10) I bought an ADC like you proposed to me. Thanks for the help!
