First off you must realise that LB5 is currently a free download of an Alpha release. That means it is in testing and not everything works just as yet. The Alpha version allows Carl to get feedback on bugs and issues about how things should work.
So is Alpha testing for you? Or do you just want a product that loads and runs? The current version of Liberty BASIC v4.5.1 is far and away the best version to load if you are beginning with Liberty BASIC and want to re learn or refresh your basic coding skills.
If you still wish to try Liberty BASIC V5 then use the download links mentioned previously. The installer will set up LB5 in its own folder on your hard drive. Currently lb-352 Inside that folder is lb5alpha.exe, run that and you are straigh into the IDE. But dont expect a help file just yet, there are example programs to run. There is also a alphaTestNotes.txt to read.
If this all sounds too much hassle then just download v4.5.1 from the main web page and start coding.

LB5 is not shipping with an installer, you just extract the ZIP archive to a folder of you liking and run LB5 from there.
