I do have it diffed but there are a lot of changes that I had to do and I know space on the forum is at a premium. But I think I can cover them all in a simple post.
First I had to remove the "," from in from of my windoe handle there a few windows so don't forget them as well
- #simcity, "setfocus" 'OLD VERSION LB4
- #simcity "setfocus" 'NEW VERSION LB5
I also had to change my windows from "dialog_nf_Modal" to "dialog_modal" - open "Roads" for dialog_nf_modal as #roads 'OLD VERSION LB4
- #roads, "trapclose [roads.quit]" 'OLD VERSION LB4
- open "Roads" for dialog_modal as #roads 'NEW VERSION LB5
- #roads "trapclose [roads.quit]" 'NEW VERSION LB5
Be careful not to remove the comma from bmpbutton I got a little zealous and did that myself LOL. I hope this helps I can do the diff as well but didn't want to get to crazy. Thanks Mark. I will actually fix those things so that the incompatibilities disappear, and other things too as much as possible. -Carl Awesome, thanks Carl I know you have been working hard on things it's greatly appreciated and I look forward to LB5 and what it can bring to the community. Thank you for all the input and updates over the years.

Is there a fix for the inputcsv error? That is the vital part of one of my programs.

I assume you are using 4.5.1 so what is the csv issue you are finding? We used to roll our own input csv functions so a solution is probably possible.

Carl,
I had gotten the V5 build 353, but it does not have the GUI Builder or tools. Is there something I am missing?

LB5 is under development, it is currently a Beta version, so some parts simply don’t exist yet. So 4.5.1 works correctly but 5 will not accept inputcsv. Because it is a relatively new function and does not yet exist in 5,. Perhaps the next release. Or develop in 4.5.1 and migrate later.

Just recently I found some old code I wrote back in 1977 on a DEC PDP using MU BASIC/RT-11 V01-01. Is there any way I could run my code on a CD inside the disc drive of my Windows 11 pro laptop? Any way I could copy paste my code into a more up to date version of Basic running on a windows machine?

There appears to be some emulators available but they look like hard work. A better plan would be to download Liberty BASIC v4.5.1 and have a play around for a few days. Run the examples, get to know how the IDE works.
Then think about converting your old code. It might not be that hard, most concepts will be similar. If you post old code that you get hung up on you will get lots of help from readers here. the first challenge is likely printing or listing the original code. Liberty will load any text file, if it is encoded we can tackle thst if it is in clear text you can simply print it. It won’t run but it will allow us to see the commands and structure for converting. I think you will find it lots more fun than running a likely limited emulator.
Start a new thread when you are ready.
