Although I am not color vision impaired I am about 90% blind and getting worse. I can simpathise. So what is the purpose of the app and your target audiance, all color impaired or just one group? Perhaps I or someone else can set up a dll that will decrease the work involved.

The app is a chord 'computer' for fretted stringed instruments. I've been working on it for a while. I have played instruments my whole life but I started it as a personal project when I got into stringed instruments a few years back. It aims to be more extensive in nature than other such programs and web based apps. It works for all instruments with 3, 4, 5 or 6 strings, including 4 and 1/2 string (a.k.a. 5 string) Banjo and diatonic (skip fret) instruments such as Appellation Mountain Dulcimer. I don't have 6 string instruments implemented yet but 3, 4, 4.5 and 5 all work. It comes with a great deal of pre-sets for common (and some not so common) instruments along with pre-set tuning banks for each as well as user defined tunings. It is also completely left-hand friendly. It does thorough neck searches for all possible chord fingerings and also has reverse chord lookup (partly implemented) and chord chart production (not yet implemented). I have had to develop methods of mathematical data compression specific to the task at hand to accomplish this with an interpreted language due to the speed restrictions imposed by such but it works and works well. I figure others could benefit from it and because I plan to have my brother-in-law use it and because I an very conscious of colour-blind issues I want to make it usable for those people. I currently have 3 menu settings: 1. "Normal Full Colour Vision & Tritonopia 'Blue-Yellow (Blue-Dichromacy)'" 2. "Deuteranopia 'Red-Green (Green-Dichromacy)' & Protanopia 'Red-Green (Red-Dichromacy)'" 3. "Achromatopsia 'Greyscale (Monochromacy)'" Which should suffice. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this offer, Walt. That is very kind and I would take you up on it, however it is now not necessary as I have largely resolved this issue by realising I need a different approach. Now that you mention for own situation, I'm feeling I should include a high contrast setting for people with poor vision but I'm not sure if I know how to do that. One of my biggest downfalls in some ways is that I have tried to make the program beautiful as well as functional and it includes images of real instruments which can interfere with attempts at clarity and high contrast.

In my case high resolution, contrast, and size is irrelevant. I have low order glaucoma which causes loss in physical range. Sometimes I see double, sometimes I lose portions of pictures or text and I have a very difficult time finding the caret in an edit control. But it would help those with visual acuity loss.
Keep at it. I'm sure you can do it.
PS: Send me a PM. I may be able to give you a lead on a programmer who has done a lot of work for the visually impaired.
