Well,
I have gotten my program to function (since my first post over a year ago), but it really is not what I call user friendly in any sense.
My file is 9.5Kb in size, but I really don't have the time to figure out more in it. I spent numerous days and weeks trying to get it to work reasonably.
Thus, I am thinking of posting on a place like freelancer to get it more user friendly.
Is there anything I should mention or questions I should ask? I really don't think i need a super pro, but I do want someone that has used liberty basic, as I really like it.
Is there a better way to find a liberty basic programmer than freelancer? I have no real experience with it.

You can get lots of help here. You can still protect your copyright if that is an issue.
Few folks work with com ports but it sounds like the problem is with Liberty code.
So simply show us your code or bits of it and folks will show you how to tidy or improve it or address the problem differently.
Start with an overview of what the project is about, where you have got to and what is not working.

By all means, post on the forum for all the help you need! I will jump in as I can as well.
If you do find that you would like to have some help outside of the forum, feel free to PM me. I have worked on projects outside of the forum and can provide an active member as a reference if desired. Feel free to PM me if you would like.

I solved the COM port issue using hardware rather than software (which could be bad or good, either way I don't worry about it anymore). The forums have lots of knowledge and helpful people, but my lack of knowledge limits what I should ask on each stage. I will freely admit to copy paste open source code for COM port and file operations. But it looks like a 3rd grader did it. If my first attempts to create a programmer relationship don't work, I will start to break down my program into easy to chew bites for help. Terry edit: no offense to 3rd graders

Just describe the project, forget the code. When we know what the project is we can show appropriate coding examples that might help your coding.
