Just a heads up to say that Alyce has been persuaded to republish her API tutorial. It is one of the best resources I ever purchased for Liberty BASIC. We have been loosing content recently with site closures, We have lost vast code repositories from file archive site closures. So my tip to you all, go and get yourself a copy of Alyce's book. You will never regret having it to hand as you grow your API skills. www.lulu.com/shop/alyce-watson/apis-for-liberty-basic/ebook/product-18586977.html

Hello Rod, I have been trying to contact Alyce by email and forum at www.alycesrestaurant.com, but failed to do so, since I do not receive answer. I live outside the States and I do not have a credit card. So my only option to buy Alyce's book is through Western Union Money Transfer. To do so, I need some details about the person that will collect the money. In this case Alyce's full name as shown in ID, City/State/Province/Country. If somebody can help contacting Alyce, please write to me at my email. Regards, - Pablo S.

Regards, -Pablo Hello, Pablo, I will not share my personal information. I use a vendor for this reason, even though Lulu keeps a portion of the money collected. I am sorry you are having difficulties. I pay to maintain a website. On my site, I've provided a static copy of the LBPE until other staff members can find a way to host a dynamic copy of that wiki. Most of the API information from the book is available there, as is API information written by others and a whole bunch of great information about all kinds of programming topics. Find it here: LBPEI do not provide individual help. Please post the question from your email here on the forum. I, or one of the great community or staff members will try to help and everybody will benefit from the discussion. Regards, Alyce

Thank you for preserving that information Alyce. I really miss LBPE as well as the old conforums site (which I used to search extensively for solutions). I found myself referring to those sites a lot in the process of learning LB. I think these forums were actually some of the best selling points on LB for me. I've also made use of your website quite a bit in the past. Your example programs are very useful learning tools. Thank you for being a part of this community and for all the great work you do. Is it possible to get your book in ASCII or MS Word format? I find PDFs to be cumbersome (my eyes are getting worn out). If not, does your book rely on a lot of images, or is it mostly text? I'm asking because, if it's in single column format and is mostly text, I could just convert it to text and then break it down into chapters for easier reference. I have an LB program that I use to organize that kind of information and it would be great to add your book to it. I don't use a lot of API, even though I would like to more often, because it's a lot of work going around looking for different references in order to try to figure out how to implement it in LB.

Donny, I understand. I have vision problems as well. Unfortunately, the book relies heavily on pictures, which is why I used the format. I'll see what I can do, but it could take some time.
Thank you for your very kind words. They mean a great deal to me.

Hi Alyce. I recently bought your api book (for thee second time, I lost the other when my hard drive died. I want to say it is the best book. I do have a question: Where are the demonstrations for the book. I tried the link on your page but it is dead. I really need them. Thank you in advance for response to this query.

Do you know the 'Wayback Machine'? It's a project to keep scanning effectively all the worlds websites and save snapshots. Less practical now when most pages have become dynamic rather than static, but it has records for Alyce's site- and I downloaded the examples file from a copy of her site in 2018. PM me if you can't see how to do that...

The links on Alyce’s page do work. It is your browser that is stopping the download. So to get the download highlight the link on Alyce’s page then click copy. Now go to your browser search bar and paste the link. You can use ctrl c and ctrl v to do this.
Once you paste the link the download will begin.
You may get further warning messages from your browser. Click keep anyway if you do and the download will be accessible.
The browser security is becoming intrusive.

Just to add, the way back machine in my experience keeps page content. It does not store resource files or even images. Just html text and formatting.
