I'm confident that Liberty BASIC v5 alpha testing will begin sometime next week. First for Windows only, but other platforms soon after.

Congratulations Carl, it's been a long road , Can't wait to get my hands on the Linux version. Great job ..., Thanks. Long road, no kidding. 2008 was a bad year for the economy, and in no small part for me since it forced me to stop working on Liberty BASIC and Run BASIC and it's taken a very long time to get back on track. In that time the Smalltalk development platform I use has moved underneath me and it took a lot of work to port it all over. The biggest side benefit of this is that I can target the Raspberry Pi and potentially other ARM platforms later, which I could not do before. So, things are getting interesting.

Is there still a place where the new syntax (or the differences) is explained. I just ran across an issue, but I'm hesitant to start asking a lot of questions about errors if I'm not sure I'm using the right syntax. If I don't find anything I may find myself asking some silly questions. LOL
I know the wikis went down, but I can't remember if there was someplace else where there was LB5 language info.
By the way, the Linux version of the alpha is working for me on the following system (laptop):
Kernel : Linux 4.15.0-43-generic (x86_64) Version : #46-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 6 14:45:28 UTC 2018 C Library : GNU C Library / (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.27-3ubuntu1) 2.27 Distribution : Linux Lite 4.2 Computer Name : linuxlite-Satellite-C55t-A

There will be more written about this of course, but the essence of the new syntax is that instead of this: print #handle, "command "; param1; " "; etc You can do this: #handle command(param1, etc) This is neater and easier for most things.
