I have the "Programming for the absolute beginner". I would like to continue just basic at the next level, but I would like to get a book, not learning on line. Do you have such a book; if so, can I purchase it thru Barns and Noble--also the price, please. I am a novice; this is for pleasure, not business.
If you have a range of books to enable me to take additional levels, please list them also.

Robin Hey Robin, That book is pretty thorough for a beginner's book. I wrote book called Beginning Programming with Liberty BASIC which is available on Amazon for about $23 (less if you are okay with a used copy), which is also good for Just BASIC but I'm not sure it will satisfy your need if you have already worked through the book you mention. My book does have an exercise and quiz for most chapters if you think that will be fun. Here is a link for my book www.amazon.com/dp/0557228115Of course there is a ton that you can learn online, but you already mentioned that you don't want that.
