Is it possible to design a menu in freeform, and have options in the menu that cause windows to appear? Or is freeform limited to just one window?

Freeform only allows designing one window at a time, but there's no reason the event handler for menu items can't open more freeform-designed windows during runtime. You'd just have to code it in the proper place yourself. You can even design both Windows in freeform, and just code the bridging code.

I can get a second window to load.. and I've given the second window a different name. But closing that window causes the original window to also close. Any idea how to avoid that?

It is fantastic that you were able to resolve the problem!
In the future, post the code that is not working as you expect it to that way we have something to go off of in case the issue is not easily detectable by yourself with a second look.
