It appears that the CONTENTS command is not correctly retrieving the typed-in contents of a texteditor window.
For example, when using the expressions
expr$ = #main.texteditor contents$()
or
#main.texteditor "!contents? expr$"
the contents of the texteditor is returned within expr$ ONLY if
- the contents were PRINTed there rather than typed (i.e. #main.texteditor, "This is a test"), or
- after contents are typed into the window, one does a RIGHT CLICK and selects ACCEPT.
Otherwise expr$ returns empty.
For example, when using the expressions
expr$ = #main.texteditor contents$()

#main.texteditor "!contents? expr$"
the contents of the texteditor is returned within expr$ ONLY if
