Whenever I dive in to learn a new computer language, I like to create a program like the one below. It allows me to sandbox each command as I type in little examples and then have a single place where I keep my notes and any functions or subroutines I created along the way. It occurred to me that this might be useful for LB 5 testing, as several commands have not yet been implemented at this very early stage. I've tested the program on the Windows and Mac versions, but I have yet to try it on the Raspberry Pi. It should work though. Please let me know what you think. -Scott :@) I tried several times to paste the code into this message, but the board choked on it every time. So here's an external link. I've also attached a zipped version. textuploader.com/1ophtLB_Commands.zip (8.01 KB)

Now, that's one comprehensive testing! High praise indeed. Thank you! Pretty cool testing tool sarossell. It took 3.2 seconds in Linux Lite (an Ubuntu fork for those who are used to the Windows desktop - I don't much care for Ubuntu's Gnome desktop). DefaultDir$ works fine in Linux It's not Defaultdir$, it's DefaultDir$ I've never tried Startupdir$ (sounds like it might be useful though), but it too may require dir$ to be Dir$ instead of dir$.

donnybowers: Thanks for the details Donny. Linux always seems to finds a way to hand my backside to me, but an encouraging time of just 3.2 seconds, that's for sure! And isn't that Toshiba Satellite running a Celeron? If memory serves, the C55T-A was one of the first touch screen models. Sweet machine. I envy the number pad. I'm still using a mid-2015 MacBook Pro. And I totally agree about the Gnome desktop. XFCE is WAY better in my book. I'll update the "...Dir$" commands and see how they work. Much appreciated! :@)

Yeah, I admit, if I have to put a graphical desktop on something, I'm usually using Xubuntu, for XFCE.

donnybowers: Huh, I had somehow managed to get the command right in the code, but missed it in the report text. So, the test worked fine, but I updated the report text. Thanks again.

Any idea when Liberty Basic 5 will be officially released? Don't want to hijack a thread with this question.. didn't want to post a whole new thread for it.
