I was testing our dechex$() and hexdec and when I get to the ampersand in my coding example the editor just closes no warnings.

Well my doctor always tells me, if it hurts don't do it. You don't need an ampersand. Of course I'll have a look. Thanks for the bug report.

I don't think it was ever needed, it was added as a convenience to those who use HTML character codes, since that's where the &H<digits> form comes from.
