BASIC got such a bad rap over the last 30-35 years. i still prefer BASIC. not because its easy but because it does exactly what I WANT it to do as well as what I NEED it to do. to me, you have to be creative to learn how to manipulate BASIC. when you thoroughly learn the ins and outs of BASIC, the more you know about BASIC inner workings, the more creative and logical your programs can be. BASIC was never really given a proper chance to become what it could've been because the books and manuals written for it were horrible. Back then we didn't have any Dummies or Idiots books or even any Head First books. Back then we didn't have Youtube, LinkedIn, or other high quality video tutorials to teach us how to manipulate BASIC. Lately I've been learning the innards of Liberty, GFA, and BBC BASICS. there is even a QBASIC variant in the Windows App Store that I have been toying with. The only other language I prefer is Pascal. I'm hoping one day to create a Structured-BASIC that is modeled after PASCAL and I think it can be done.

Since you are interested in BASICs and it is a family of languages, then I can mention QB64. The qbasic on Windows App Store looks pretty shady, QB64 aims to be as compatible as it can be to qbasic, so it's a good, modern way to delve into it. Also for GW-BASIC flavors there is PCBASIC, it tries to emulate those flavors of BASIC.
Pascal is pretty good, Delphi is kind of a natural extension to it. Both have pretty beginner-friendly syntax, they were created for teaching and to encourage good procedural programming practices after all.

If you are interested in other basics then you definitely should try out QB64 at www.qb64.org/portal/ The qbasic on Windows App Store looks pretty shady, QB64 aims to be as compatible as it can be to qbasic, so it's a good, modern way to delve into it. Also for GW-BASIC there is PCBASIC at robhagemans.github.io/pcbasic/ it tries to emulate other flavor of BASIC. Pascal is pretty good, Delphi is kind of a natural extension to it. Generally we discourage the promotion of other versions of BASIC in this forum.
