Hi, I would like to log on and buy a fresh LB Pro 451 copy, but it all ends up in a nightmare of entering two or three decades of old passwords? One after another. Can you delete me?

stig, Watch the tone there! If there is something wrong with your ability to access LB when you have purchased it, Carl will get it resolved eventually as he always does. There is always room to be respectful and patient. {:0) Brandon Parker

So the problem is you wipe out old Liberty BASIC, install new but it still asks for, or needs your old password to get registered? The new password will not do? So having lost that old password you are stuck in limbo?
Is this the problem you are facing? (Leave aside the critical comments they get us nowhere.) You want a completely fresh copy of Liberty BASIC that instals without the need of previous passwords, is that the actual problem?
It is so long since i installed that i have no idea what needs to be done but it does seem that a fresh purchase should allow a fresh instal. It is also beneficial that upgrades remember the previous instal and password registration. perhaps that is the stumbling block.

Rod, yes that is the problem. So I purchased a new licence for LB Pro, and received an email with a d/l link that is 404, and no answers contacting support. No answers, no new link, nothing.

Well first off you are posting on a Liberty BASIC fan club. the fan club is full of folks who know Carl is a nice guy that cares about his customers and his software. So think about that a little before you shout again Few folk have bother downloading or installing Liberty or Pro so we need to really understand why you are having so much bother.
First thing is that the software downloads and installs and runs without any need of a password. so you have posted one or two times and I am unsure if it is the download that gives you problems or the registration password entry.
You should be able to download the standard program from the published link or the pro program from the private link Carl gave you.
So first question, do you get a download file to instal? This is the easy part, everyone seems to be able to get that bit done. Entering the passwords for registration is the bit that gets some folks confused. In fact if the download installs and your name is shown at top left of the ide the registration has been automatic and no need to renter your password.
What is at the top of your ide?
So where are we did you get a download, did you click on it to instal. If so it should just run when clicked. The registration is just to get rid of the nag screen.

Sorry about that. You're right that the link I sent was broken. I typed it by hand and made a typo. I have resent the link, corrected. I have not seen any emails from you. I will go and figure out why that is. Again, sorry about that. Thanks for your patience. -Carl
