Hi - I am trying to read data from a file and found some code to do the trick. I changed the OPEN line to read my file and I get an: The system cannot find the file specified error. I move the file to several folders with the same problem. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I tried both c:\desktop\test2.txt and c:/desktop/test2.txt, with the same results. Thank You... Ronnie
open "c:\desktop\test2.txt" for input as #datafile while eof(#datafile) = 0 line input #datafile, datastring$ wend close #datafile

Make unique file name. Open file for output, with simple path (c:\) or without path at all. It will create a file. Search for file afterwards. You will know where it went - now put your input file there.

Hi Briman / tsh73 - Thanks for the help. Briman I tried your suggestion and it worked. I am still living in the DOS world (Won't tell you my age...) and forget that the desktop resides in the Users folder. Take Care...
