Perhaps I should do a version using Cyrillic ( Russian) characters?? Run my current LB program code for this suggested Rosetta Code task and it puts this up on a browser screen.
I was quite pleased- but just noticed I have several mistakes to correct! Will change the relevant page on my LB site... however the code is messy and I should really re-write from scratch.

Interesting Then we have Russian words typed with Latin characters, it is (here) commonly called "Transliteration" (other words just did not occur) Then I try to write foreign word with Russian letters, Wikipedia suggested "practical transcription" Then I switch language in this wikipedia article to English I got en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthographic_transcriptionSo English to Greek is "Orthographic_transcription" Greek to English is "Transliteration" ? Wikipedia suggests *Orthographic transcription, *phonetic transcription, *phonemic orthography, *transliteration, *translation are all different beasts. And I see error of my ways - really, what I use as "transliteration" is trying to convey the spelling (printed language, almost never spoken aloud) but then I try to make "practical transcription" I try convey the sound. (just as Wikipedia actually says).
