I think the project is still alive. However progress has been slow as real life events have ambushed Carl. I look forwards to the day he is able to retire and spend a little more time with us. May be a while yet!

I would have rather RunBasic prospered but it did not. Why I don’t know, perhaps a step too far for old BASIC coders. Liberty BASIC on the other hand still attracts new users and attention.
Don’t think it is going to die anytime soon. In any event measuring success on the basis of recent development is fundamentally flawed.

I ask chatGPT about history and should we pay attention to it. It had a rather long list. This part of the list seems to be important here:
Don't get me wrong. I like Liberty basic and hope for it's success. If there is ever a path to pick up where Run Basic left off and include it in LB, I'll be there in a minute.

Just as a note, Liberty BASIC has been around far far longer than Run BASIC. Run BASIC spawned from original LB 5 development. Run BASIC was supposed to fill a web niche, IMO... LB has been very successful in its own right. It has survived beautifully over decades of use... Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it would be very much appreciated if we can keep it positive on the forum that is meant for productive LB discussion. {:0) Brandon Parker
