hello All, when I try to start LB, I get an error and the program crashes, and this under the Admin Accnt of win 10.
I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling LB, all to the same end. here is the log file

Apparently something has changed. A couple of days ago you were asking about touch screen so it seems that LB was operating fine at that time. What did you do? What changed?
Does the LB IDE load? Are you getting the error when you attempt to run an app?
IOTW, what are you doing?

Did you install a new virus checker or update how it works? Did you start a server service on your pc? Have you changed how you log on to your PC? You have changed something and set DEP fully on, you need to set this to a less severe setting, metro has the answer in his link.

hello all, liberty basic is still crashing even before the LB IDE loads, but no worries, I have LB on an older tower PC, so I can still do coding. but it does not go online, as it is a win XP system. so I have to transfer my code from that PC to my laptop Via memory stick in order to post it here.
and to answer your questions, I did install a new Anti-virus, but set it to allow LB through. otherwise i did nothing else different. . . .
but I'll admit I don't know how to reset the security thing you were telling me about.
anyway,I am still coding away, like the mad scientist I am. HA HA. but the Tower comp does not have touch screen, s that pretty much kills that.
now I am am working on a new program, where the user enters a last name, and it will find all record matches for the entry, that match with those
in a data file, and then list them in a roster format, if I run into any serious snags along the way, I'll be back to get help just wanted to let everyone know I am alright, and like the Phoenix, I shall rise again! Take care all, Jim

I think a recent Windows Update made a change to some settings that causes this. Here is the steps that Rod (an Administrator here) provided in another thread. (no guarantees but it worked for me.)
1) type sysdm.cpl into the windows search box bottom left of your desktop.
2) Windows will list the applet sysdm.cpl, click on it to start the System Properties dialog
3) Click on the Advanced tab
4) Click on Performance [settings]
5) Click on the DEP tab
6) Ensure that the checkbox is set for "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programmes and services"
7) Click Apply
8) Reboot your PC
Let us know how you get on.
