I've been playing with reloading a grid and despite the code telling me the reload has worked within 4 milliseconds the actual window takes up to 8 seconds to refresh. any ideas? using lb5 for Linux
dim a$(3, 2) grid #w.grid, a$(), [clicked], 10, 10, 300, 300 for x = 0 to 3 for y = 0 to 2 a$(x,y) = "c"+str$(x)+" r"+str$(y) next y next x open "Grid test" for window as #w #w.grid columnnames("lock", "stock", "barrell", "powder") #w.grid columnwidths(50) #w.grid rownames(1, 2) #w.grid rowlabelwidth(50) #w.grid selectxy(2, 2) print #w.grid value$() #w.grid setvalue("yahoo") print #w.grid value$() print #w.grid debug$() wait
[clicked] start= time$("milliseconds") print "clicked: "; #w.grid cellxy$() for x = 0 to 3 for y = 0 to 2 a$(x,y) = "c"+str$(x+9)+" r"+str$(y+9) next y next x #w.grid reload() finish=time$("milliseconds") itTook = finish-start print itTook ; " milliseconds" wait

May have something to do with Linux. Or maybe the weather down there? I'm running win/10 and it takes at most about 20 milliseconds.

Spot on Dan, I cranked up the win10 laptop and speed was no trouble at all. re-booted Mint Linux 19 Desktop and re-ran the code it was as slow as a drongo. maybe others using Linux could confirm that it's super slow (painful) to refresh a window.
PS apart from a cyclone brewing off our north west, weather if bonza.

Does it update once you move your mouse after you click? That's what I'm seeing on 32-bit Mint. I'm pretty sure this won't be hard to fix.
UPDATE: Does the same on Windows.
UPDATE: Fixed for the next build.

UPDATE: Fixed for the next build. Im Gunna shop here more often, the service is impeccable 😀 Any chance at some time in the future we could see grid lines in this widget? Maybe even alternate colouring for rows....(way down the list of wishes) Thanks Carl
