Sorry for the delay in replying. I would love to share my time line program and see what feedback I get. Some family members have seen and used a couple of my programs, but they don't tell me much so I would love to hear what enthusiasts and experts think (just be gentle with me!!) How can I get the code and data to you?

The program is 40k. With the data for 2 time lines it comes to 284k although some of the data is duplicated for reasons I won't go into here. I am quite happy to share it all with just a credit for the work.

My "Hello World" program is dated Jan 2005. Found LB via google search, I think.
I used to be a senior member; now I'm demoted to junior! Should come here more often to avoid such indignities.

Hi, I used Turbo-basic in 1980s in DOS. I was made redundant in 1992 and due to lack of jobs, started my electrical business. In 1993, I created my own invoicing/accounts programme using Turbo-basic, still in DOS, as I couldn't afford to buy accounts software. I bought my first Windows PC in 1995, and used Quickbooks for accounts, and stopped creating DOS software. In 2020 I needed to create my current project and found Liberty Basic. Have I been on a journey since! If it wasn't for all you lovely people out there, I may well have drowned myself in the bath!
I remain like someone wanting to learn chinese by using a chinese/engish dictionary, looking up one word at a time.
Each new bit of code someone gives me results in hours looking up the commands and trying to understand what each one does.
So, Mr Gundell, thank you for creating this, and thank you to Rod, Brandon, Anatoly, Walt, and everyone else who has helped me. If you come to the UK, let me repay you with some old fashioned UK hospitality.
Kind regards, David

Hey everyone, If you could just take a moment, please respond to this request and reply with how long you have been using Liberty BASIC, and perhaps if you can remember how you first heard about it? Thanks! -Carl Gundel, author of Liberty BASIC I've used LibertyBasic for many years, which is an improvement of GWBasic. GWBasic was once taught in schools, before canned programs for everything were everywhere. I'm a retired math professor. One of my hobbies is number theory. I use LibertyBasic to observe facts about integers and see if I can prove them. When I was teaching I would use it to create problems that would have easy answers. I help students online and often use it to find answers in advance by brute force beforehand to help me solve them without a computer. Oftentimes I can determine strategies for solving difficult problems without a computer by observing the way the numbers crunch.

I'm pretty sure it was back in 1998, though it may have been early 1999 ( v1.42 ). I found out about it because a friend had it and introduced me to it.

Hi Carl, I've been using Basic since it was first available for CP/M in the 1970s. I tried visual basic but didn't like it so I purchased Liberty Basic when v4.5.1 came out. I've written several tools and games and made some of them available online at lucidtechnologies.info/software.htm. Looking forward to v5.0. B
