Hey everyone,
If you could just take a moment, please respond to this request and reply with how long you have been using Liberty BASIC, and perhaps if you can remember how you first heard about it?
Thanks!

I've been using it since late 2004, early 2005.
I first used BASIC on a V-Tech PreComputer Unlimited(a self-contained computer that plugged into a TV) in 1998-ish.
I started middle school(6th grade) in 2001. There, I met someone who would become my best friend through middle school, and happened to be as into computers and video games as I was. It was in late 2004 or early 2005 when I was at his house, and he was showing me a program he wrote to keep track of the points and actions during a Yu-Gi-Oh card game match. I saw it was written in BASIC, and was surprised to see it on a Windows machine. I'd never thought of it being there, having connected it to just the PreComputer. So I looked closer at the program he was using: Liberty BASIC. And I'm pretty sure he was using an old version at that point, either 2 or 3.
I looked into it myself, and installed the evaluation version of Liberty BASIC v4.01. I also found Just BASIC, and wound up joining the JB conforums on March 30th, 2005. I later joined the LB conforums on May 16th. That would've been at the tail end of my 8th grade, my last year of middle school. That matches up with what I remember, as well; I wound up showing another friend of mine in middle school all about LB and JB, and my best friend and I wound up using a program we wrote in LB as part of a class assignment in 8th grade.

At my age your memory is not quite an accurate calender anymore. I started using Liberty Basic when its 2.0 incarnation needed testers. I asked Carl to include me in that group and I started a most marvelous trip. The reward for testing and most importedly reporting the findings was the license I have been using since then. I've used all incarnations of LB to date. Not all my projects were easy to realize but perserverance made all of them a success. LB had the capabilities.
The waiting time between some releases was extensive but the finished result delivered by Carl was always more than satisfactory. Thanks for that, Carl.
I know that the current path of improvement will lead to a very satisfactory LB 5.
How did I get onto the trail of LB? I needed a basic with a lot more oompf than I had received from MicroSoft.

I've used LB for 10 or 12 years. I had read about it on the net for some years before I actually dove in. I had used the old fashioned BASIC since the 1980's, but once I made my first GUI program with LB, I was hooked.

Since 9/21/2004 with 4.01. I'm not sure but I think I did a search on Basic languages. I think I joined the original forum a few days after Alyce.

Hi Carl
I can't quite remember exactly - but I think it was 1998 or 1999 when I first used Liberty Basic (version 1.4). I had been using GW Basic and Quick Basic for small bits of programming for my work in the laboratory of a ceramic manufacturing company, but wanted to move over to using Windows for these things. Liberty Basic was a life-saver, as I could start coding straight away. We went on to buy a copy!
I was made redundant in 2000 and had different types of jobs until 2014, when the original company asked me back. What was really funny was that they were still using the little programme I had made using LB in 1998!!!

Learned about it from a Usenet post in 1997. I've been using it since then. Started with v1.4.
