Hello all,
I've been observing all the wonderful activity directed toward populating the Rosetta Code entries for Liberty BASIC lately (you're a coding machine, Mr. Drake!)
As I recall from recent threads on the subject, it was agreed it would be best to submit entries here for review before posting. However, I may have missed the details regarding the procedures to follow. Is there a review period of time to adhere to? Has someone volunteered to do the final postings to the Rosetta site to ensure uniform format and placement? Or are we to individually do our best to emulate the style and categorization of previous entries when we submit them to the RC site?
I humbly suggest perhaps a brief policy message be posted and pinned in this sub-board for clarification.
Thanks. :@)

Ok, this is a straw man to pull apart, we did have trouble getting full time management last time round so while its nice to think we can police it the reality is that you would need to constantly monitor and amend. That management style is not the essence of the wiki.

So, I was thinking something along these lines for the pinned policy message...? 1. Submit your Rosetta Code entry to this sub-board (Liberty BASIC Community Forum >> Liberty BASIC 4.5.1 programming discussions >> Liberty BASIC code >> Rosetta Code) in the form of a message. 2. Be sure to use the CODE markdown within the message to ensure proper formatting. 3. Allow 72 hours to pass for other members of the forum to analyze, review and critique your code. 4. Make any changes to the code that may have been suggested during the review process. 5. Enter the code on the Rosetta Code web site at ( rosettacode.org) on the appropriate task page under the heading "Liberty BASIC" making sure to capitalize the word "BASIC". 6. Do not enter the code under a different heading or sub-heading. Liberty BASIC should NOT be entered under the generic header for "BASIC".

* If your code is based on solution on other language, please say so. It might get others some insights (or even let spot some bugs). * Please let code "dry" on this board for a while. I think, if nobody post anything for a week, that should mean it mature enough (or convoluted enough so noone dares trying ) as to ( ) of course not That's your code. Make changes you deem reasonable

sarossell too severe for me, its open forum fun. No one should need to "submit" to anything, the policing will be natural by peer group contribution. We don't own the wiki , we can't police it and we have no power to force people through a review process. But lets see what others think. 72 hours is fine now when folks are active but not mid summer. You may not agree with the changes, who arbitrates? The thing works, we don't need much change aside from ensuring the category is 100% Liberty BASIC and that just requires 100% Liberty coded solutions. But other folks like John and Chris and Anatoly have put more into the wiki than I. So we need their contributions. This would normally be a Moderator discussion but since we discuss a facility that is out with our control open forum is perhaps relevant. We can always have the last say by posting better code.

Sure. Of course. Just offering up some text that might spark action, if needed. I've found that it's far easier to ask someone to correct something than it is to ask them to write it from a cold start. With all the recent effort put into developing the aggregator, I thought it prudent to try to be part of the solution rather than the problem. Just being neighborly. :@)

Yeah, that last version was a bit terse. Comes from writing for military and government agencies for nearly 30 years. How about this version?

In an effort to help maintain the functionality of the Code Aggregator used to retrieve code solutions from the Rosetta Code web site, the following guidelines have been provided for adding Liberty BASIC code to the site:
1. The Liberty BASIC Forum community have shown a willing interest in offering analysis and review of code to be entered on the Rosetta Code site. Please enter your code in a message in the sub-board located at "Liberty BASIC Community Forum >> Liberty BASIC 4.5.1 programming discussions >> Liberty BASIC code >> Rosetta Code".
2. Be sure to use the CODE markdown within the message to ensure proper formatting.
3. Allow at least 72 hours for members of the forum to analyze, review and critique your code.
4. Based on community feedback, make any suggested changes to the code you feel may be warranted.
5. Enter the code on the Rosetta Code web site at (rosettacode.org) on the appropriate task page under the heading "Liberty BASIC" making sure to capitalize the word "BASIC". Please do not enter the code under a different heading or sub-heading. Liberty BASIC should NOT be entered under the generic header for "BASIC" - the aggregator has trouble finding the code if this occurs.

Isn't item (2) is something everyone does anyway? so one item less Sadly, no. This seems to catch a few now and again, which is why I added it, just to be sure. Mostly new forum visitors forget or don't know.
